I started sharing the software skills I was using in my job and reached 3.3M developers online. My first product launch made $1,000 in 11 days. Since then, I've been obsessed with using video to create authority around my skills for myself and other professionals.
A few years ago, I was just a developer working a job. I wanted more independence, but my only idea was to post videos online—and that felt scary.
I dressed up in a shirt and for three minutes pretended to be an expert.
That first video was so cringe that I unlisted and gave up.
One year later, I decided to try again.
The difference? This time I'd solve real-world problems, talk only from lived experience, and avoid wearing a shirt at all costs.
I began growing an audience, but there was still one problem: I was a perfectionist.
This was a strength in my day-to-day work, but it was killing my ability to publish regularly and gain visibility.
The solution?
Daily posting.
Through repetition and iteration, I learned how to get eyeballs on my work. By documenting my process, I've been able to launch courses, publish books, get job offers, land freelance clients, and do one-to-one coaching.
